PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
What It Means to Be an RID
Registered Interior Designers (RIDs) are qualified professionals who have completed a combination of formal education, supervised work experience, and professional examinations to earn their designation. Beyond initial qualification, RIDs demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional excellence through continuing education, adherence to a professional Code of Ethics, and accountability to established industry standards.
OSID’s Registered Interior Designer members hold the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certification and maintain professional registration with the Interior Designers Institute of British Columbia (IDIBC), demonstrating their commitment to competency, professionalism, and the protection of public health, safety, and welfare.
